DIAGNOSIS
A 27-year-old patient struggled with strawberry legs and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation for nearly three years. Regular shaving had intensified the appearance of dark pores and uneven skin tone, affecting her confidence when wearing shorts, dresses, and swimwear.
Through a personalised dermatological treatment plan, we focused on reducing pigmentation, minimising follicular dotting, and improving overall skin texture, combining laser hair removal with targeted topical care.
Within six months, the patient saw a visible reduction in pigmentation and smoother, more even-toned skin, restoring the confidence to wear what she liked, without a second thought.
The patient presented with a characteristic “strawberry legs” appearance, marked by visible dark dots, uneven pigmentation, and rough skin texture. These changes developed gradually and became more noticeable over time, affecting the patient’s confidence in wearing shorts, dresses, and swimwear.
Based on skin type, pigmentation severity, and hair density, a personalised laser hair reduction plan was developed to address both follicular dotting and post-inflammatory pigmentation safely and effectively.
Laser hair reduction treatments were performed at regular intervals to target hair follicles, reduce ingrown hairs, and minimise the appearance of enlarged pores responsible for the strawberry legs effect.
As follicular irritation decreased, targeted pigmentation treatments and medical-grade skincare were introduced to lighten dark spots and promote a more even skin tone.
The patient's response was assessed throughout the treatment course, with adjustments made as needed to maximise results while maintaining skin health and comfort.
Maintenance sessions and a customised skincare routine were recommended to preserve smooth skin texture, prevent recurrence, and maintain long-term pigmentation control.
Identifying the exact cause of the pigmentation was essential before starting treatment. Since the dark appearance was linked to follicular irritation rather than a primary pigment disorder, the treatment strategy focused on reducing hair growth, minimising inflammation, and gradually improving skin tone—rather than targeting pigmentation alone.
